INJURY LAWYERS: Why don’t they tell you how much they are going to charge?

If you watch TV you have probably seen ads for personal injury lawyers. Some of those TV commercials tell you their personal injury lawyer is a “Real Person”, some tell you they are “Sweet”, and some say they will “fight for you”, but the one thing none of them tell you is how much they are going to charge you.

Instead, they like to tell you there is “No Fee Until You Win”. That’s not helpful!

That’s like going to a restaurant where the prices aren’t on the menu and the waiter tells you they won’t charge you until after you’ve eaten! It’s a setup for disaster at any restaurant, and it’s even worse when you are dealing with hiring a personal injury lawyer.

It's imperative to know how much you are going to be charged when your case is over because some personal injury lawyers will only charge you a 20% fee and others will charge you 50% or more. The difference in what that may cost you in dollars and cents could be enormous.

So what should you do?

Make sure you get a copy of the contract before you hire your lawyer!

Once you get a copy of the contingency fee contract from the personal injury lawyer you are thinking of hiring, [and before you sign it], send it to me and let me review it with you.

I too am a “real person”, and a real lawyer [State Bar #119492], and I’m ‘sweet’ [quoting my wife!] and I have also fought for people in courts all over California since 1985.

Unlike those ‘Real Person’-’Sweet’-'I'll ’Fight for you’ lawyers you see in the TV commercials, I don't have any TV commercials or multi-million dollar ad campaigns. Don’t waste your time looking for a personal injury lawyer.

Think about it. We all see plenty of personal injury lawyers in TV commercials. You can also do an Internet search for personal injury lawyers and you’ll find lots of them. And every single one of them will tell you they are THE BEST. In fact, I’ve never seen one of them say “We’re the third-best” lawyer…. so the word “best” is a relative term. What one person might think is the BEST lawyer, another person would never hire.

What you need is someone who can help you find the personal injury lawyer who is actually the BEST FOR YOU and for your specific case.

Do you want someone who’s gonna “fight like hell?” Maybe you do, but remember you may have to fight like hell with that lawyer at the end of your case on the distribution of your money.

Maybe you want someone to hold your hand and be patient with you and explain things to you as your case develops. Maybe that would be the BEST for you.

I don’t know who is best for you. But I want to find out who is, by speaking with you and getting to know your needs and your preferences. When you call any of those other places, they will all tell you they are the best for you, and yet, they don’t even know you. That’s not helpful to you.

You see, I don’t want to be your lawyer. Instead, I want to help you find the BEST LAWYER FOR YOU.
